Serving Families in Worcester and Surrounding Areas

Labor and birth, while a wonderful thing, is incredibly intense and at times, overwhelming. A lot of mothers say that it was the hardest thing they've done in their life. A doula is a trained labor companion that is thoroughly and completely dedicated to simply helping you, in a way that no other person is dedicated and able to do. Your partner might not know how or have the right information, and medical personnel might not have time. A doula has both. Hiring a doula ensures that you receive the best possible support and attention that you will need during labor and delivery.

As your doula, I will support you

  • Physically I will provide comfort measures and suggest positions to help the labor progress.

  • Emotionally I will encourage you when you feel like you are at the end of your rope. I will help you find strength when you think you have none left. If things don't go the way you hoped, I will help you adjust and make peace with the situation.

  • With Information I will explain in layman's terms what is going on. I will help you find the words to ask your provider about risks and benefits of suggested procedures, so you could make well-informed decisions.

Studies have shown that women who use birth doulas have better birth outcomes, including fewer Cesarean births.

"If a doula were a drug, it would be unethical not to use it."

- John H. Kennel, MD
